Graphic Novels

It’s a real pity that we don’t truly understand and except comics as a legitimate form of educative media in Australia.
Learning and ideas can be disseminated via any format. Graphic novels (comics) are just another means. Another technique that can in some cases work far better than plain text.
Let me put it another way. You purchase the graphic Bible and the plain text version. Word for word they are the same. Is the graphic version any less legitimate? Does graphics remove something from the experience or add to it?
Why am I saying this? I am currently reading an adult graphic novel series. I get more reaction from people than a fifty year old man reading the latest Harry Potter novel. I know what I’m reading is far more intellectually advanced and sophisticated than HP, yet I bet if you asked most which of us is more childish they would most likely pick me.

Syncretism

This is an interesting doco about the Compatibility of Religious and Transhumanist views. I haven’t read it all yet. I will hopefully comment on it after I do.
I will say however. It is important that we know what we believe in. Especially before we preach or disregard any other system. I would argue that most Christians don’t really know what they actually believe in. Would the average Joe church goer understand the transubstantiation? I doubt it. Would he understand the complex psychological/ Mythological nature of the book of Job? No Chance!!
